Request to visitors

During the exhibition period, especially in the latter half of November, a large crowd is expected. For safety reasons, the following restrictions will be enforced in the hall. In addition, depending on the situation, the closing time of the reception desk may be moved earlier in order to ease congestion. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.

  • November 11 - December 8 : Garyu-ro corridor is closed.
  • November 11 - December 8 : Senbutsu-do is closed
  • Taho-to Pagoda may be closed due to crowds or inclement weather

Other requests

  • Advance tickets for the daytime and night time are not available. Please purchase tickets on the day of your visit. Tickets are only valid on the day of the visit.
  • In order to reduce plastic waste, visitors of Eikando are requested to bring their own shoe bag.

  • During the "Autumnal Exhibition" and "Light-up" period, the entry of a bus is not allowed all day long.
  • No photography and no video inside the temples except the garden.
  • No tripod or similar equipments for taking photograph or video in the precincts.
  • No selfie rod in the temples. Please refrain from using it in the crowded precincts.
  • No pets admitted into the precincts.
  • No foods and drinks in the precincts.
  • No smoking in the precincts.
  • No baby buggy on the aisles in the temples.
  • No car park for e-scooters, private cars and motor cycles. Please use public transportation.
  • No reservation of the car park for business entities.
  • The ticket for the Night Time Visit is diferent from the one for the Day Time Visit. It is not possible to stay the temple through a day to a night. All of the day-time visitors are requested to walk out the precincts until 5:00 PM
